Rumors of Apple's foldable iPhone have been flying for years, but now we finally have it confirmed: the iPhone Duo is coming this October. At Apple's Sept. 9 event, the tech giant announced the full collection of new iPhones coming, which includes the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Duo.
September marks the start of fall, the school year, and, of course, the new iPhone. For years now, Apple has launched its new iPhones in September, and this year is no different. Though, we didn't get the base model iPhone 18 this September — it's rumored to be released in spring 2027. Maybe your old iPhone is finally on its last leg, or perhaps you've just been waiting for the foldable iPhone, but either way, if you're ready to buy an iPhone, it's almost time.
Here's the pricing breakdown:
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max (burgundy, glacier, silver, and black) — starting at $1,199
iPhone Duo (star white and night sky) — starting at $1,999
While we know the breakdown of the new iPhones' pricing, neither is available for preorder yet. So, when are you able to secure one of the new models for yourself?
When are the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max available for preorder?
While the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max were unveiled at Apple's event on Sept. 9, neither is currently available for preorder.
Preorders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max begin Saturday, Sept. 12. Devices will then be available as soon as Friday, Sept. 18.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max come in four new colors, including burgundy, glacier (a light blue), silver, and black. The iPhone Pro starts at $1,199 while the Pro Max starts at $1,299.
When is the iPhone Duo available for preorder?
For the iPhone Duo, you'll need to wait a bit longer. The first foldable iPhone from Apple won't be available for preorder until Friday, Oct. 16. The Duo will then be available as soon as Friday, Oct. 23.
The newest iPhone comes in the colors star white and night sky (navy). Models begin at $1,999 for a 256GB model, while the 2TB model comes in at $3,199.
How to buy the new iPhones
Buying an iPhone has historically been straightforward. You can either pay in full for the device through Apple or at your mobile retailer. Apple has also featured payment plans through its Apple Card, and most mobile carriers feature monthly payments rather than an upfront lump sum. While this remains true for the new iPhones, Apple has launched a new way to buy its phones.
With the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo, you can now lease both phones. Just like a car lease, you won't technically own the device, instead paying a monthly fee to use it. These leases from Apple span 24 months and let you upgrade your device at any point.
Leasing the iPhone 18 Pro begins at $34.99 a month, and the iPhone Duo begins at $57.99 a month.
