8BitDo's FlipPad, a flip-style USB-C gamepad that turns iPhone and Android devices into retro handhelds, is available in the US and has launched across Europe.

TL;DR: 8BitDo's FlipPad, a flip-style USB-C controller that turns your phone into a retro handheld, is available in the U.S. on Amazon for $29.99. The gamepad has also officially launched across Europe and Amazon UK, retailing for €29.99/£24.99.

8BitDo's FlipPad is available at Amazon in the U.S. for $29.99, turning your phone into a mini retro handheld with real, clickable buttons instead of a flat touchscreen. Now it's expanding overseas: the FlipPad officially launched across Europe on Aug. 14, via distributor Game Outlet Europe, and it's available on Amazon UK for £24.99 and other European retailers for €29.99.

The FlipPad clips onto your phone and plugs in through USB-C, so there's no Bluetooth pairing, no charging, and no annoying lag or drop-outs while you play. When you're done (or a call comes in), you just flip the controller up and out of the way; there's no need to unplug anything.

The FlipPad is built for portrait-mode gaming, so it's great for retro titles and mobile games that support controllers. You get a full D-pad and ABXY buttons, so every input feels like an actual button press, not a screen tap.

It works with both iPhone (iOS 26.2 or later) and Android (13.0 or later) devices, and it's designed to fit most phone cases, so you don't have to take your case off just to use it. 8BitDo says the hinge is rated for more than 6,000 open-and-close cycles, and the USB-C connector can handle over 10,000 plug-ins.

At under $30 in the U.S. and similarly priced across Europe, the FlipPad is an affordable way to make mobile gaming feel like it's supposed to. If cloud gaming or emulators are your go-to on mobile, this could be the accessory that makes mobile gaming satisfying.

Stateside gamers can grab it on Amazon U.S.; UK gamers, Amazon UK has now got you covered.
