If you’ve been eyeing a pair of noise-canceling cans but couldn’t stomach modern flagship pricing, Amazon just gave you a break. The flagship Sony WH-1000XM6 wireless headphones are down to $378, shaving 18% off their standard $459.99 list price. That is an $81.99 price cut on the pair we named the "best sound-first headphones" in our 2026 guide.
The biggest win with these headphones is the return of folding hinges: the earcups finally collapse inward to tuck into a much sturdier case featuring a magnetic latch instead of the old, fragile zipper. Inside the earcups, a carbon-fiber dome driver runs on Sony’s new QN3 processor, which clocks seven times faster than the previous generation.
Sony backed that horsepower with 12 total mics for adaptive noise canceling and six dedicated mics for cleaner phone calls. Plus, you can finally plug in to charge via USB-C and keep listening to your playlist without the music cutting out.
In his review, Mashable's Timothy Beck Werth called the sound "impressive," with vocal tracks that sound "particularly great." He also pointed out that the active noise canceling "works like magic," carving out a dead-silent bubble whether you're trying to focus in an open office or crammed onto a subway train.
Even if the 30-hour battery life didn't see a massive jump from the XM5, the travel-ready folding design, richer vocal tuning, and class-leading noise cancellation make these an easy recommendation.
