Get a break from RAMageddon with these last-chance Prime Day laptop deals: Save up to $850 on MacBooks

The best Prime Day laptop deals are going to the 15-inch Apple MacBook Air, a cheap Windows laptop, and lots of gaming laptops.
The best Prime Day laptop deals at a glance:

The ongoing global RAM shortage has led most PC makers to raise their laptop prices this year. As of this week, that even includes Apple: All of its MacBooks are now at least $100 more expensive than they were at launch. (Goodbye, $599 MacBook Neo. We hardly knew ye.)

Mercifully, Amazon is offering some sweet RAMageddon relief during its annual Prime Day sale. MacBooks, Windows PCs, and gaming laptops from brands like Acer, Asus, MSI, HP, and Lenovo are currently on sale there for up to $850 off. Act snappy, though: Prime Day ends at midnight tonight, June 26, and it's probably the last time we'll see laptop deals this good until Black Friday season.

As Mashable's resident expert on all things laptops, I have to tell you that Amazon carries a much smaller selection of Windows laptops, gaming laptops, and Chromebooks than other major retailers — especially Best Buy, which happens to be running a competing Tech Fest sale this week. I've rounded up Amazon's most worth-it laptop deals below and made sure they aren't available cheaper elsewhere. But don't feel like you need to be loyal to Amazon just because Prime Day is hogging the spotlight right now. (For what it's worth, Costco is matching most Prime Day MacBook deals with no membership required.)

I'll continue to update the following list with the best Prime Day laptop deals up until the sale ends, so check back often. You can also visit the Mashable Shopping team's dedicated Prime Day 2026 hub for all the latest tech price drops from around the web.

FYI: Deals marked with a 🔥 have fallen to record-low prices. Deals marked with a strikethrough weren't available at the time of writing, but could return in the final hours of Prime Day.

Best Prime Day MacBook deal

Powered by the M5 chip, Apple's sleek MacBook Air is faster than any other Windows laptop at its price point (and even many that are way more expensive). Its overall build quality also smokes most of the competition: It comes equipped with a luxe haptic touchpad, a sharp Liquid Retina display, and 12MP webcam. The 15-inch base model just got price-bumped to $1,499, but Amazon is selling it for $1,149 right now — a 23% savings. If it sells out there, you can find the same deal at Costco (and it's open to non-members).

Best Prime Day Windows laptop deal

This is the 14-inch version of the Acer Aspire 16 AI, which is my favorite cheap Windows laptop and the best MacBook Neo alternative I've tried (so far). I haven't personally tested the Aspire 14 AI, but our friends at CNET said it has an amazing battery life, a great mechanical trackpad, and a good mix of ports — including two Thunderbolt 4 ports. (Mashable and CNET are both owned by Ziff Davis.) Its Prime Day price of $479.99 makes it way less expensive than the base MacBook Neo, which now costs $699. Apple's option has better build quality but half the RAM and storage.

Note that Amazon's MSRP for the Aspire 14 AI is deflated. It usually retails for $879.99 there, according to the price-tracking site camelcamelcamel. Acer's website also lists that price.

Best Prime Day gaming laptop deal

CNET rated this 16-inch budget gaming laptop a solid 7.7/10, writing that it "provides enough 3D graphics oomph for 1080p/1200p gaming." It features four-zone RGB keyboard backlighting and a big, buttery 180Hz display. Plus, it's kitted out with plenty of RAM and storage — and the latter is easily upgradable. It usually retails for $1,399.99, but it's on sale for just $1,099.99 this Prime Day. That's a record-low price that last appeared on Black Friday 2025.
