Apple has officially rolled out iOS 18.3.2 for iPhones and iPads, and while it may not be a massive update, it's still important—especially for security reasons. However, it also comes with a small but potentially annoying change regarding Apple Intelligence.

What's New in iOS 18.3.2?

Apple’s official description of the update is fairly standard. The company states that iOS 18.3.2 “provides important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses an issue that may prevent playback of some streaming content.”

As is often the case, Apple doesn't fully disclose security updates until they’ve been thoroughly investigated and patched, so the specifics of those fixes remain unknown. However, one confirmed fix is a supplemental patch for a WebKit exploit originally addressed in iOS 17.2. This particular issue allowed certain malicious websites to bypass security restrictions and potentially harm devices.

The Apple Intelligence Change

One notable (and possibly frustrating) tweak in this update is that Apple Intelligence is being turned back on by default. If you previously disabled it, you’ll need to head back into your settings to switch it off again. This isn’t the first time this has happened—many users reported the same thing with iOS 18.3.1. It seems like this may become a recurring issue with each update.

Other Apple Updates

Alongside iOS 18.3.2, Apple has also released:

  • Safari updates
  • macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 for Macs
  • visionOS 2.3.2 for the Apple Vision Pro
  • tvOS 18.3.1 for Apple TV devices

Which Devices Get iOS 18.3.2?

If you own one of the following devices, you should be seeing the update:

  • iPhones: iPhone XS and newer, including the latest iPhone 16 series
  • iPads:
  • iPad Pro 13-inch
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad (7th generation and later)
  • iPad mini (5th generation and later)

How to Install iOS 18.3.2

If you haven’t received an update notification yet, you can check manually:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Select Software Update
  4. If iOS 18.3.2 is available, tap Update Now

Your device will restart once the installation is complete.

Final Thoughts

While iOS 18.3.2 isn't a major update, it’s still worth installing to keep your device secure and functioning smoothly. Just be aware that you might have to disable Apple Intelligence again if you prefer not to use it. If you’ve already installed the update, let me know if you’ve noticed any other changes!
